A book series that inspired the hit TV show "Little House on the Praire" is about a pioneer girl  named Laura Ingalls who grew up in the West. The story is written in several books that tell the hardships of the family such as hard winters, little food and homesickness. Taking place in the late 19th century readers can not only enjoy a good story, but learn about the past.

Based on the true story of Laura Ingalls reader can learn her life story as she grew up in Wisconsin, Kansas, and Minnesota. Charles Ingalls (known as Pa) played his fiddle and Caroline Ingalls (Ma) gave the girls an education and a cooked meal. Her sibilings include Mary, Carrie, Charles and Grace. Laura is known for her traveling days in a coverwagon and the hardships of the West.
