Photographer Adeline Reid use to be a train robber's sweet heart, until she found out he was a criminal. Yet, most people don't believe her innocence. Shamed by the town and losing her and her uncle's photography studio to arson they leave in hopes of making a new start in Dodge City, Kansas.
Reid not only struggles to hide her past but to keep her photography business open, especially after her uncle has died. Now its up to her to do what she can to survive. It's tough being in a one person photography business.
New Deputy Miles Carr has struggles of his own. As the former brother-in-law of a infamous gang member he too wants to keep his past under wraps. Carr finally has his dream job but that could easily be lost when a case goes wrong and there are few clues as to who the killer is.
Carr follows the clues to Reid's studio. Can the two help each other, or will their greatest fears become reality? They should watch their backs because the killer is not far behind.
